Building on the ASTA Communications Committee’s discussions around quality seed messaging, Calvin Stover, Director of Seed Purchasing & Quality Assurance, Tanimura & Antle based out of Salinas, will be joining the group to discuss produce marketing, trends in consumer demand, and how the right, quality seed is needed to help meet those demands.

Calvin currently handles a majority of Tanimura & Antle’s seed purchasing for a variety of crops such as lettuce, onions and brassicas.  Along with seed purchasing responsibilities, he oversees varietal R&D work in multiple growing regions for the company.  Joining Tanimura & Antle in 2016, Calvin has overseen the seed department for the past 4 years and works with various departments within the organization such as production, harvest and sales to collaborate the future needs of the company with the changing landscape of the produce industry. As part of Tanimura & Antle, Calvin also works closely with PlantTape in providing seed and participating in collaborative R&D work.
