Mirna Kahakachchi is the Market Research Lead for the Stakeholder Insights & Research Team within Bayer’s Public Affairs, Science and Sustainability organization at Bayer’s Crop Science Division.
Mirna is responsible for leading global market research planning and implementation, as well as building the organization’s strategic market research and insights capabilities. Within this role she leads projects to understand how consumers around the world think about science, agriculture, and plant science innovations as it relates to the food value chain. Articulating research learnings into actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders continues to be a priority for her.
Mirna began her career at Bayer’s Crop Science Division (formerly Monsanto Company) in 2008 as a Communication Manager and has helped activate the organization’s next generation of leaders on social media. She is a skilled digital communications professional with more than a decade of experience in social media, journalism, research, and employee advocacy. Her desire for a career in research and communication stems from her experiences in academic, agency, and corporate settings. Her fluency in multiple languages as well as her ability to collaborate globally has helped her to cultivate strong relationships within multinational organizations and navigate the social footprint for corporate brands and thought leadership.
Mirna holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Linguistics from Rhodes University in South Africa, and a Master of Arts in Communication from Saint Louis University in Missouri, U.S.A.
