Lindsey du Toit serves as a Professor and Extension Plant Pathologist at the Washington State University Mount Vernon NWREC, where she has run a vegetable seed crop pathology program for the past 22 years. Her program focuses on diseases affecting small-seeded vegetable seed crops in the Pacific Northwest USA, particularly spinach, beet, chard, brassicas, carrot, and onion. Lindsey obtained BS (University of Natal, South Africa) and MS and PhD (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) degrees in plant pathology. She worked as a plant diagnostician from 1998-2000 at Washington State University, and has been in a faculty position in the Department of Plant Pathology since 2000.
