David M. Johnston has been involved in agriculture and seed testing for over 40 years. He holds an Associates of Applied Science Agri Business degree and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has been a Register Seed Technologists (RST), accredited by the Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST), and a Certified Seed Analyst (CSA), accredited by the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA), for over 35 years.

Over his career, he has worked in three government seed labs, a private seed lab, a seed certification lab, as well as an ISTA accredited quality control seed lab for a large international seed company. He has also served in leadership roles for both SCST and AOSA, and currently serves on multiple SCST, AOSA, and ISTA committees. Presently, he is the Seed Lab manager for the Louisiana Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry Seed Lab.
