As Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer, James is responsible for setting the OneAmerica Cybersecurity strategy, policy, standards, controls and risk management process, and assure that they are being effectively developed, implemented and executed.

Before joining OneAmerica in 2018, Yang directed IT strategy, security governance, risk and compliance for CNO Financial Group and, prior to that, directed cyber risk and disaster recovery for Cummins Inc. During his 13-year tenure at Cummins, Yang earned the 2014 CSO40 Award from CSO Magazine for his advancements in IT framework and delivering groundbreaking business value.

Yang earned two master’s degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, one in business administration and one in information management. He also received a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Purdue University. In addition to his academic degrees, Yang obtained FINRA Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination), holds three certifications from (ISC)2 — Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) — as well as status as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
