Studied Chemistry in Braunschweig and made his PhD in Agronomy in Bonn.
Started Secretary of a Senate Commission of the German Research Council and joined from there RCC, a leading Contract Research Organisation in Switzetrland.
In 2007 he became Director of RCCs Business Units Agro and Chemicals and was promoted in 2008 to Global Director Business Unit AgroChemicals and Biocides in the newly found company RCC/Harlan. From 2011 he changed his responsibility to the position of General Manager of Global Registration and Strategic Consulting at Harlan
2012 he left Harlan and became Managing Director of Eurofins Regulatory AG in Switzerland, which he founded for Eurofins.
In 2017 he was appointed Secretary General of ISTA.
