Dr. Jeremiah Roeth
Jeremiah brings a multi-disciplinary background to approach challenging problems in the agriculture industry. After growing up on a small family farm near Dayton Ohio, Jeremiah obtained a BA in Chemistry, and went on to acquire a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology. After a postdoctoral appointment in cancer biology, he joined a startup synthetic biology company to build a high throughput process to design, build, and test complex DNA construct to enable product development in the areas of Ag trait development, gene therapy, and industrial biologics. After the company’s IPO, Jeremiah returned to the farm in 2014 to co-manage Buckeye Ag Testing with his father and sister, where he oversaw the execution of small plot contracted research trials in corn, soy, and wheat. Here, he developed methods for integration of quantitative aerial imagery to enable automated data collection to assess crop dynamics in. In 2018, he founded aerialPLOT, and formed a partnership with a software engineering firm (RoviSys) to build a robust, cloud-based data management platform focusing not only on automating UAV imaging and analytics, but the integration of multiple data layers to better understand product performance in the field. aerialPLOT currently serves the Ag research community providing UAV data capture across most of the US Ag geography as well as a robust cloud-based data platform.
