Dr. Bo Beaulieu is Professor Emeritus of Rural and Regional Development, Purdue Center for Regional Development and the Department of Agricultural Economics. He served as director of the Purdue Center for Regional Development from April 2013 through May 2020 and was professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics from April 2013 to February 2021. He was bestowed the honor of Professor Emeritus in March 2021.

Dr. Beaulieu is the recipient of a number of key awards over the past several years. In 2014, he received the Distinguished Rural Sociologist Award from the Rural Sociological Society, the Secretary of Agriculture Honors Award, and was selected as an inductee in the George Washington Carver Hall of Fame for Public Engagement at Tuskegee University. In 2016, the National Association of Community Development Extension Professionals honored him with the Distinguished Career Award while the Community Development Society paid tribute to his professional activities with the Community Development Achievement Award in 2018. He is the 2021 recipient Faculty Engagement Fellow Award by the Purdue Office of Engagement. It is awarded to a full professor with a strong record in the Scholarship of Engagement.

Bo is the author/co-author of over 50 journal articles or book chapters, four edited books and dozens of applied community/regional development curriculum modules. He is the past president of the Rural Sociological Society and the Community Development Society. Bo received both his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in Sociology (with a specialty in community development) from Purdue University.
