Growing up in the business Jacob spent many summers in both the Research and Production areas of Wyffels as a young child. He learned the basics of corn breeding and corn production from an early age and it started a curiosity for agriculture that quickly turned into a passion. That passion led Jacob to pursuing a degree in crop science agribusiness at the University of Illinois College of ACES where he spent 4 years feeding that passion. He was also a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho agriculture fraternity where he met many other like minded individuals and life long friends that shared in that interest in agriculture and innovation. Upon graduation he came back to the family business to join fellow 3rd generation member, Blake, and started working in the production side of the business. Learning from the ground up Jacob gained experience in all facets of the production process as well the key people that brought Wyffels high seed quality to life. Taking on more responsibility over the years Jacob in his current role of Vice President of Production oversees all aspects of seed production, quality assurance and supply management. The production side of the business has seen extreme growth over the last 5 years and Jacob's passion and focus has been on bringing enthusiastic and passionate people on to the team while leading a large scale construction campaign to double the size of their Atkinson Production facility. Jacob along with his two cousins in the business, John and Blake, are extremely excited about what the future holds for Wyffels and the opportunity to continue the sustainable growth onto another generation.
