Name
Keen Project Solutions: Developing an Apprenticeship Program to Avoid Labor Shortages
Date & Time
Tuesday, December 7, 2021, 1:40 PM - 1:50 PM
Matthew Frandsen
Description

When Keen Project Solutions was started in 2014, the owners knew the demand for building activity would continue to grow, but the availability of skilled labor would be the limiting factor. That’s why the business invested in building and developing the first-of-its-kind Merit Shop Millwright Apprenticeship Program in Iowa.

After only seven years, Keen has become one of the Midwest’s leaders in providing design, engineering, and construction of agricultural and industrial facilities. With more than 100 direct-hire Millwrights in the field, a large part of Keen’s growth can be attributed to future planning around their growing workforce.

Join Keen’s President, Matt Frandsen, as he shares lessons learned, plans for the future, and what we can all learn by taking the long view on growing internal talent.
