Dr. Scott Heuchelin is Director of the Iowa State University Seed Science Center and Administrator of the National Seed Health System. He joined the Seed Science Center in 2025, returning to Iowa State University as a two-time alumnus with a Ph.D. in plant pathology.
Dr. Heuchelin brings more than 22 years of experience in seed health, regulatory policy, and international collaboration. Prior to his return to ISU, he led the Pathology Group and global phytosanitary risk mitigation efforts at Corteva Agriscience, working closely with scientists, industry leaders, and regulatory agencies worldwide to support the safe movement of seed across borders.
In his current role, Dr. Heuchelin provides strategic leadership for both the Seed Science Center and the National Seed Health System, advancing science-based seed health solutions, strengthening regulatory alignment, and supporting innovation across the global seed industry.
