My research focuses on quantitative genetics and local adaptation in hops (Humulus spp.), using globally collected germplasm from Eurasia and North America(curated by myself). I study genetic and phenotypic variation in drought tolerance through common garden experiments integrating genotyping, drone-based phenotyping, metabolomics, and transcriptomics, with the goal of informing low-input hop breeding.
Expected date of graduation: April 2027
Professional aspirations after graduation: To pursue a research career in applied plant genetics and breeding, focused on developing climate-resilient, water-efficient crops. I have existing industry experience through collaboration with Steiner Inc. in the Yakima Valley, and I aim to expand this applied work into larger breeding programs and additional crops, bridging academic research with real-world breeding and production challenges.
