Description of Innovation: U-Treat Lite is a new automation platform from USC featuring a “firstof-its-kind” graphical user interface (GUI) for the seed treating industry. Existing automation control platforms rely on text focused, database style layouts that are cumbersome to use, difficult to understand and time consuming to learn. USC will explain why it’s critical for seed equipment manufacturers to change the way they think about software development by focusing more on the user experience and worry less about unneeded data entry points.
Why it Matters to the Seed Industry: Overcomplicated software platforms require significant setup and training time. Learning to use these platforms takes time away from the operator and their staff. In addition, dealers are forced to charge additional fees due to lengthy setup and training periods. With so many data points on the screen it can be difficult for the operator to find the information they need and recognize issues before they become a problem. By adopting a GUI based platform, dealers are able to setup systems in a fraction of the time and users have the flexibility to only display the data that matters to them, making information quick to find and potential issues easy to identify.
